Every panel comes off the machine already the shape it needs to be, then is linked stitch by stitch. Nothing is cut, so nothing can unravel from a seam.

Horn buttons
Five of them, each a little different, because horn is. They are sewn on with a shank so the button band lies flat when it is done up.
