Overgrip
An overgrip is a thin strip wound up over the handle of the pala. How far each turn overlaps the last decides how thick the grip ends up, and whether the strip reaches the top.

The overlap is the size
Wound with more overlap, the same strip builds a thicker grip but stops short of the top. Wound with less, it reaches the top and stays thin.
The cord stays
The rules require a cord of no more than 35 cm at the end of the handle, worn round the wrist. The overgrip is wound up from just above it.
